Cyryx College Joins Oracle Academy

Oracle Academy to provide software, curriculum, hosted technology, faculty training, support, and certification resources

14th February 2018  Cyryx College has become an institutional member of Oracle Academy. Cyryx College will be integrating Oracle Academy’s computer science programs and curricula into its programmes. Students will have access world-class technical curriculum and hands-on experience with industry-leading database, middleware, and applications software.

“We are really thankful to Oracle Academy for providing us with this precious opportunity, not only to become an institutional member, but also to benefit from its valuable resources,” said Mr. Mohamed Shareef, Vice Rector, Academic Development of Cyryx College. “Three hundred students study the subjects of Programming and Databases each year and it will be a great opportunity for our students to get familiar with object-oriented programming, Java programming, database design, programming with SQL and programming with PL/SQ.”

Through its institutional membership with Oracle Academy, Cyryx College students and faculty will have access to a number of key programs in object-oriented programming, Java programming, database design, programming with SQL and programming with PL/SQL, in addition to Oracle Academy Workshops in Alice, Greenfoot, Programming the Finch Robot, and Solve It with SQL. Cyryx College students and faculty will also have access to Oracle Academy Online Lecture Series and receive discounts on Oracle Press eBooks, as well as, discounts on Oracle University trainings.

Cyryx College Bachelor of Information Technology programmes in System Administration, Database Administration, Software Design and Development, and Web Programming will be updated to integrate Oracle Academy curricula, programs and hands-on experience with Oracle software. In addition, students will have the opportunity to learn about key computing subjects including Cloud, Big Data, and IoT, and better understand the skills they need to succeed in a modern career.
