Mr Ahmed Shareef is an entrepreneur and has been working in the private higher education for the last two and half decades. He initiated his business career with a company named Worldlink Travel with limited capital and facing many challenges. Prior to involving in business, he worked for Air Maldives and Sun Travel during which he developed interest to invest in travel business. During this time, he acquired Cyryx from a close friend of him with an enormous debt. However, over the past years, after starting the education business with just six computers he transformed the computer training center to a full-fledged private leading college in the Maldives. Cyryx College now has over 23000 alumni and over thousand students studying each year from certificate to master level courses in myriad of disciplines.

Over the years Shareef has deeply involved in the Maldivian business sectors including real estate, education and travel and tourism. He has invested massively in each of these sectors. Shareef has worked with many leading professionals in the Maldives in various capacities. From 2011 to 2013, he was appointed as the Chairman of the State Electric Company limited. He was also appointed by the then Presidents of Maldives as a board member at Maldives Transport Development Corporation that managed a portfolio of multimillion dollar assets, Maldives Qualification Authority, the dedicated Government body to monitor and implement quality assurance mechanism in the Maldives in addition to being involved in many other important national level initiatives.

Shareef is currently pursuing Master of Science in Management with a focus in Oil and Gas from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom.
