CYRYX COLLEGE COUNCIL

The Cyryx College Council is the College’s apex governing body, responsible for the mission and strategic vision of the College; monitoring and guiding College performance against the mission and strategic vision; control of assets; finances, and business plans; oversight of human resources and employment matters; appointment of Rector, Vice-Rectors, Deans, Deputy Deans, and heads of departments; ensuring control and accountability systems for all matters are in place and monitored.

Cyryx College Council is supported by three key committees in delivering its responsibilities as follow:

 

ACADEMIC POLICY COMMITTEE (APC)

Purpose
The Academic Policy Committee assists and advises the College Council in ensuring the maintenance of the highest standards and quality in teaching, scholarship, and research at the Cyryx College.

QUALITY ASSURANCE COMMITTEE (QAC)

Purpose
The Quality Assurance Committee is responsible, on behalf of the College Council, to ensure the effective implementation of Cyryx College’s quality assurance framework and provides a platform for the discussion and promotion of developments in academic quality assurance.

 

ADMISSIONS COMMITTEE (ADC)

Purpose
The Admissions Committee supports and advices the College Council in all admissions related matters towards ensuring the maintenance of the highest standards and quality in degrees and other awards conferred by the College. ADC will act, on behalf of the Council, as the final decision-making authority on admissions-related matters, in line with MQA Entry Criteria, and College’s admissions policies and procedures, as authorized by the Council.

 

EXAMINATIONS BOARD (EXB)

Purpose
The Examinations Board supports and advices the College Council in all examinations related matters towards ensuring the maintenance of the highest standards and quality in degrees and other awards conferred by the College. EXB will act, on behalf of the Council, as the final decision-making authority on examination-related matters, in line with College’s assessment policies and procedures, as authorized by the Council.

FACULTY STUDENT DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE (FDC)

Purpose
The Faculty Student Disciplinary Committee assists and advises the College Council in allegations of misconduct by faculty and students in respect to a possible of breach of College’s regulations, codes, values, and expectations, to maintain a appositive teaching and learning environment at the College. Main responsibility is to review cases of faculty and/or students’ violation of any rules, regulations, codes, or values, of the College and/or commitment of any misconduct and determine/recommend counselling and/or disciplinary actions as appropriate to the College Council for endorsement.
